“One of my mantras is focus and simplicity. Simple can be harder than complex. You must work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple.”

-Steve Jobs, Founder of Apple

What Happened at Mars Hill?

Mars Hill is the Roman name for a hill in Athens, Greece, called the Hill of Ares or the Areopagus. Rising some 377 feet above the land below and not far from the Acropolis and Agora (marketplace), Mars Hill served as the meeting place for the Areopagus Court, the highest court in Greece for civil, criminal, and religious matters. Mars Hill was where a council of civic leaders met—an important meeting place where philosophy, religion, and law were discussed.

Where is Mars Hill Today?

2,000 years ago, Mars Hill was an actual physical place. You had to go there in person to share your unique ideas and debate other people in the public square. Today the media is everywhere. Mars Hill today is in our hands (smartphone), in our car (radio), in our house (TV). Podcasts. Twitter. Facebook. Netflix. Media is with us 24/7.

Without question, mass media is the loudest voice in our culture. In today’s media world we’re all competing for real estate across platforms via narratives, stories, search, digital ads, direct mail, TV, email and even texts. Businesses and non-profits are now living in the era of media delivery. In B2C, you can reach prospective customers via text, phone, social, email, direct mail etc. In B2B, you can reach out directly to a CEO or CMO to share why your products or platforms will help a company grow and reach greater business outcomes.

Mars Hill Strategy With Words

Mars Hill Media works with you on media delivery. With new media platforms you can build trust, have important dialogues and build relationships with your customers like never before. In this environment creative communication strategies are the main arbitrage. It’s the real opportunity that can pay in perpetuity. We help clients invest in strategy and leverage it accordingly.

At Mars Hill Media, we help clients with their “strategy with words”. Strategy with words leads to better thinking. Better thinking leads to better strategy. Better strategy leads to powerful strategic frameworks, narratives and stories that you can share with prospective customers and donors which challenge assumptions, persuade and cause them to act.

Making the simple complicated is commonplace; making the complicated simple, awesomely simple—that’s creativity.

Mars Hill Media is one of the best media agencies in the country. I can't recommend them strongly enough.
